कार्तिक मास कथा
मूल: हिंदू धर्म में पूर्णिमा का व्रत महत्वपूर्ण स्थान रखता है। प्रत्येक वर्ष 12 पूर्णिमाएं होती वह जब अधिकमास या मलमास आता है तब इनकी संख्या बढ़कर 13 हो जाती है। कार्तिक पूर्णिमा को त्रिपुरी पूर्णिमा या गंगा स्नान के नाम से भी जाना जाता है। इस पुर्णिमा को त्रिपुरी पूर्णिमा की संज्ञा इसलिए दी गई है क्योंकि आज के दिन ही भगवान भोलेनाथ ने त्रिपुरासुर नामक महाभयानक असुर का अंत किया था और वे त्रिपुरारी के रूप में पूजित हुए थे। ऐसी मान्यता है कि इस दिन कृतिका में शिव शंकर के दर्शन करने से सात जन्म तक व्यक्ति ज्ञानी और धनवान होता है। इस दिन चन्द्र जब आकाश में उदित हो रहा हो उस समय शिवा, संभूति, संतति, प्रीति, अनुसूया और क्षमा इन छ: कृतिकाओं का पूजन करने से शिव जी की प्रसन्नता प्राप्त होती है। इस दिन गंगा नदी में स्नान करने से भी पूरे वर्ष स्नान करने का फाल मिलता है।
कार्तिक पूर्णिमा के दिन गंगा स्नान, दीप दान, हवन, यज्ञ आदि करने से सांसारिक पाप और ताप का शमन होता है। इस दिन किये जाने वाले अन्न, धन एव वस्त्र दान का भी बहुत महत्व बताया गया है। इस दिन जो भी दान किया जाता हैं उसका कई गुणा लाभ मिलता है। मान्यता यह भी है कि इस दिन व्यक्ति जो कुछ दान करता है वह उसके लिए स्वर्ग में संरक्षित रहता है जो मृत्यु लोक त्यागने के बाद स्वर्ग में उसे पुनःप्राप्त होता है।

शास्त्रों में वर्णित है कि कार्तिक पुर्णिमा के दिन पवित्र नदी व सरोवर एवं धर्म स्थान में जैसे, गंगा, यमुना, गोदावरी, नर्मदा, गंडक, कुरूक्षेत्र, अयोध्या, काशी में स्नान करने से विशेष पुण्य की प्राप्ति होती है। कार्तिक माह की पूर्णिमा तिथि पर व्यक्ति को बिना स्नान किए नहीं रहना चाहिए

पौराणिक मान्यता: कार्तिक पूर्णिमा को गोलोक के रासमण्डल में श्री कृष्ण ने श्री राधा का पूजन किया था। हमारे तथा अन्य सभी ब्रह्मांडों से परे जो सर्वोच्च गोलोक है वहां इस दिन राधा उत्सव मनाया जाता है तथा रासमण्डल का आयोजन होता है। कार्तिक पूर्णिमा को श्री हरि के बैकुण्ठ धाम में देवी तुलसी का मंगलमय पराकाट्य हुआ था। कार्तिक पूर्णिमा को ही देवी तुलसी ने पृथ्वी पर जन्म ग्रहण किया था। कार्तिक पूर्णिमा को राधिका जी की शुभ प्रतिमा का दर्शन और वन्दन करके मनुष्य जन्म के बंधन से मुक्त हो जाता है। इस दिन बैकुण्ठ के स्वामी श्री हरि को तुलसी पत्र अर्पण करते हैं। कार्तिक मास में विशेषतः श्री राधा और श्री कृष्ण का पूजन करना चाहिए। जो कार्तिक में तुलसी वृक्ष के नीचे श्री राधा और श्री कृष्ण की मूर्ति का पूजन (निष्काम भाव से) करते हैं उन्हें जीवनमुक्त समझना चाहिए। तुलसी के अभाव में आंवलें के नीचे पूजन करनी चाहिए। कार्तिक मास में पराये अन्न, गाजर, दाल, चावल, मूली, बैंगन, घीया, तेल लगाना, तेल खाना, मदिरा, कांजी का त्याग करें। कार्तिक मास में अन्न का दान अवश्य करें। कार्तिक पूर्णिमा को बहुत अधिक मान्यता मिली है। इस पूर्णिमा को महाकार्तिकी भी कहा गया है। यदि इस पूर्णिमा के दिन भरणी नक्षत्र हो तो इसका महत्व और भी बढ़ जाता है। अगर रोहिणी नक्षत्र हो तो इस पूर्णिमा का महत्व कई गुणा बढ़ जाता है। इस दिन कृतिका नक्षत्र पर चन्द्रमा और बृहस्पति हों तो यह महापूर्णिमा कहलाती है। कृतिका नक्षत्र पर चन्द्रमा और विशाखा पर सूर्य हो तो “पद्मक योग” बनता है जिसमें गंगा स्नान करने से पुष्कर से भी अधिक उत्तम फल की प्राप्ति होती है।
कार्तिक महीने का महत्व:
- हिंदू पंचांग के 12 मास में कार्तिक भगवान विष्णु का मास है। इसमें नक्षत्र-ग्रह योग, तिथि पर्व का क्रम धन, यश-ऐश्वर्य, लाभ, उत्तम स्वास्थ्य देता है।
- प्राचीन काल में अलग-अलग महीनों में वर्ष की शुरूआत होने का उल्लेख मिलता है, लेकिन आधुनिक काल में वर्ष का आरम्भ भारत के विभिन्न भागों में कार्तिक या चैत्र मास में होता है।
- इसी मास में शिव पुत्र कार्तिकेय ने तारकासुर राक्षस का वध किया था, इसलिए इसका नाम कार्तिक पड़ा, जो विजय देने वाला है।
- कार्तिक महीने का माहात्म्य स्कन्द पुराण, नारद पुराण, पद्म पुराण में भी मिलता है।
- कार्तिक मास के लगभग बीस दिन मनुष्य को देव आराधना द्वारा स्वयं को पुष्ट करने के लिए प्रेरित करते हैं। इसलिए इस महीने को मोक्ष का द्वार भी कहा गया है।
- शास्त्रों में कहा गया है कि कार्तिक मास में मनुष्य की सभी आवश्यकताओं, जैसे- उत्तम स्वास्थ्य, पारिवारिक उन्नति, देव कृपा आदि का आध्यात्मिक समाधान बड़ी आसानी से हो जाता है।
